Calling Stag

Nikon D850, 600mm +1.4TC @ f5.6 1/4000th sec, 1400iso

In October 2020 I spent a day out looking for Stags to photograph.  We saw this stag taking his harem of doe’s up the mountain in the morning.  As the sun began to set later that day we watched him guide them back down again whilst fending off interest from other smaller stags.  Shooting straight into the setting sun using the car as a hide made for some interesting conditions with the undergrowth glistening from all the rain during the day.
